FitFirst offers tailored fitness programs designed to help you stay fit for life, with one-on-one coaching that makes your journey enjoyable, effective, and fun!
With expert one-on-one coaching, we take a tailored approach to strength, mobility, and overall wellness—helping you build lasting fitness on your terms.
Mobility is simply how you move. It describes the range of motion in everything you do, which requires both flexibility and strength.
Agility is your body’s ability to be quick, graceful, and nimble. Being agile doesn't just improve athletic performance, it can improve how you move day-to-day.
Balance training involves doing exercises that strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, including your legs and core.
Decrease your risk of injuries. Help your joints move through their full range of motion. Increase muscle blood flow. Enable your muscles to work most effectively.
A key advantage of strength training is that it can help prevent exercise-related injuries, as well as the injuries that can happen during everyday life.
Good posture entails distributing the force of gravity through our body so no one structure is overstressed.
Flexible, personalized sessions designed around your lifestyle, making it easy to stay consistent and reach your goals.

Janet Curl, Lead Instructor — Janet’s love of the outdoors was instilled in her at a young age. Her father was a “self-propelled outdoor enthusiast” and she proudly followed in his footsteps. As a kid, she hiked the Appalachian Trail, canoed down the Missouri River and bicycled from Connecticut to Cape Cod with her brother.
In college, Janet rowed for four years at Boston University. The discipline and dedication she developed while rowing collegiately is the cornerstone of the FitFirst program.
Janet is a certified Group Fitness Instructor with AFAA. She is also certified Level 1 with Tina Vindum’s Outdoor Action Fitness Training of Marin. She has also been certified through Road Runner’s Association of America and USAT Level 1 Triathlon Trainer.
Janet also leads running and hiking retreats for Run Wild Retreats, leading women-only mindful group excursions throughout the world. She’s recently returned from Iceland, Costa Brava, Portugal, Ireland, Vietnam, Bhutan, Asheville, and the Canadian Rockies. You can see more about Run Wild HERE >>
Janet’s approach to health and wellness instruction and leadership continues to leverage her years of experience and passion—whether leading early morning workouts and personalized instruction or traveling the world helping groups of women run and hike mindfully in nature. Her end goal is to help each participant in FitFirst improve their health and fitness in a safe and fun environment — but always outdoors!
For your personalized training sessions, wear comfortable workout attire and a good pair of athletic shoes. Bring a mat or towel for post-workout stretching and water to stay hydrated. Depending on your customized program, your trainer may recommend additional equipment, such as light hand weights for strength training. These details will be discussed during your initial consultation to ensure you’re fully prepared for each session.
